Die Nikon Z6II ist eine hochwertige Vollformat-Systemkamera, die auf dem Erfolg ihrer Vorgängerin, der Z6, aufbaut. So verfügt die Z6 nicht nur über einen, sondern gleich über zwei Expeed-Prozessoren, die es der Z6II ermöglichen, 4K-Videos mit bis zu 60 Bildern pro Sekunde aufzuzeichnen, und der Rohdatenpuffer ist dreimal so groß wie bei der Vorgängerin.Wie ihre Vorgängerin verfügt die Z6II über einen 24,5-MP-CMOS-Vollformatsensor, IBIS sowie Staub- und Spritzwasserschutz. Außerdem verfügt die Z6II über einen zusätzlichen Speicherkartensteckplatz.
