De Sony PXW-Z90V 4K HDR XDCAM is een camcorder die perfect is voor broadcast nieuws en televisie. Hij heeft een 1’’ exmor RS CMOS sensor met een UHD 4K resolutie. Hij kan 4K in XAVC Long GOP om 4:2:0, HD in XAVC Long GOP om 4:2:2 10-bit, en ook MPEG HD 4:2:2. Dankzij zijn ingebouwde 2.4/5GHz mogelijkheden is het mogelijk om te kunnen streamen via RTMP/RTMPS live streaming protocols. De camcorder heeft phase detection autofocus die heel precies en snel is, en hij is ook voorzien van HDR. Verder heeft hij een Zeiss T* lens met 12x optical zoom. De Sony PXW-Z90V is voorzien van een OLED viewfinder en een 3,5’’ LCD touchscreen voor instellingen. Hij heeft ingebouwde ND filters en kan in slow motion schieten tot 960 fps.
Er zijn twee 3-pin XLR audio inputs en een 3.5 mm mini input voor audio, en hij heeft twee sd-kaarten slots.
