De Sony a9 III is een spiegelloze camera met wereldwijd de eerste Global Shutter, ontworpen voor sport, wildlife, fotojournalistiek en meer. Met zijn geavanceerde sensortechnologie stijgt deze camera boven de norm uit voor full-frame beeldverwerking. Het biedt de mogelijkheid om continu raw-opnamen te maken met een snelheid tot 120 fps en flitssynchronisatie tot de maximale sluitertijd van 1/80.000 seconde. De combinatie van de 24,6MP sensor, de krachtige BIONZ XR-processor en de AI Processing Unit van Sony resulteert in een responsief en betrouwbaar camerasysteem dat aan de verwachtingen voldoet voor wie op zoek is naar solide prestaties.
De Global Shutter-sensor van de α9 III zorgt voor beeldexpressie zonder vervorming, zowel in video als foto's. Dit maakt het voor creators eenvoudig om beelden te schieten van bijvoorbeeld landschappen vanuit een snel bewegende auto. Deze camera is de eerste in Sony's Alpha-serie die 4K 120p video met een hoge framerate kan opnemen zonder bijsnijden. Bovendien is het mogelijk om met de α9 III hoge-resolutie 4K 60p video's vast te leggen met 6K oversampling.
