Two new Nanlux Evoke RGB lights now available for rental: 600C and 150C

Sometimes on set you just want to move faster. No hunting for gels, no endlessly repositioning practicals, just getting the mood right instantly. That is exactly why we added two new Nanlux Evoke fixtures to our rental lineup: the Nanlux Evoke 600C and the Nanlux Evoke 150C. Both are full color, both are built for film work, but each has a very clear role.

Why full color fixtures speed up your workflow

RGB lighting is most useful because it is both a creative and a practical tool. You can dial in a clean daylight look in seconds, shift it to warm evening tones right after, and if needed add that one subtle color tint that makes the frame feel complete. A lot of fixes that usually take time can now happen directly in the light. Taking a green cast out of a room, warming up your key slightly, or suggesting a neon vibe without changing the whole set, it becomes much more direct.

Nanlux Evoke 600C: a serious key light with color

The Evoke 600C is the one you grab when you want a strong spotlight that can carry most of your lighting plan. Think interviews, commercial shoots, or setups where you work with larger modifiers and still want output to spare. The key advantage is that you do not have to choose between “powerful white light” and “color effects”. You can use the same fixture as a solid base and then introduce subtle color without rebuilding the setup.

In practice that means faster variations between shots. The director wants it a touch warmer, art department adds a color element in the background, or you want a kicker with a slightly different color temperature. With the 600C you can make those adjustments without killing momentum.

Nanlux Evoke 150C: compact, flexible, perfect for accents

The Evoke 150C is the kind of light you bring “as an extra” and then end up using all day. Because it is compact, it is easy to boom up for a hair light, hide behind props for a background accent, or use to add depth to a wall. It also makes a lot of sense for product work and smaller sets, because you often benefit more from precision and placement than raw output.

What makes this fixture so useful is how quickly it adds an extra layer to your image. Not to take over the scene, but to finish it.

Which one do you need: 600C or 150C?

If you want one fixture that can serve as your main light, while keeping full freedom to shape mood and color, the 600C is the logical pick. If you already have a key light and mainly want speed and flexibility for accents, backgrounds, and compact setups, the 150C is the better fit.

And honestly, the combo is often the sweet spot. A 600C as a soft key and a 150C as a kicker or background color gives you a lot of control without adding complexity.

Using color without making it look loud

Color usually looks best when it does not scream for attention. The difference is often in small choices: pushing color into the background rather than onto skin, or choosing one accent color and keeping it consistent across the frame. If your base light stays soft and neutral, even a small hint of color starts to feel cinematic.
