The lens has a 100mm focal length and maximum aperture of F2.8, which makes the lens ideal for portraiture and low light conditions. The lens is built up of 17 elements in 13 groups and has 9 aperture blades which results in soft and round bokeh.

To combat chromatic aberration and color fringing, the lens has Super Spectra coating and Spherical Aberration Control elements. The lens has a 1,4x magnification and a minimum focus distance of 26cm which allows you to film or photograph your subject closely.

Besides its fast, quiet and accurate Dual Nano USM autofocus motors, the lens also has up to 5-stops optical stabilization. This makes the lens ideal for handheld video and photography.
