The Sound Devices MixPre-3 II is a field recorder. This recorder lets you couple and record up to three external microphones, as well as a stereo mix up to 32-bit/192kHz.
With a max bit depth of 32 bits, you have a lot of room for audio edits in post. Each of the three channels can be monitored and individually adjusted with the physical knobs. The recorder has an internal timecode generator, as well as polarity, low-cut and pan controls. You can record onto an SD card or create a backup recording using a USB thumb drive.
The recorder is powered by the included 4x AA batteries or by AC power. It weighs only 0.5 kg (without batteries). Its dimensions are 144 x 36 x 110 mm.
