Combining G Master performance with the lightest and smallest form factor in its class, Sony completes its trio of f/2.8 G Master zoom lenses with the latest wide-angle offering for videographers and photographers: the FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM II lens. This lens offers a range of optical, focusing and operating improvements, including extremely fast autofocus.

Thanks to a completely new optical design, the Mark II lens is significantly lighter than its predecessor, the Mark I, with a weight reduction of approximately 20%. In addition, the Mark II lens is now 10.1 mm shorter in length than the Mark I. In addition, the Mark II features no fewer than four aspherical elements, including three XA (extreme aspherical) elements, while the Mark I had only two extreme aspherical elements. 

A notable addition to the Mark II is the presence of a click-switch that allows you to choose between flexible or proportional adjustment of the aperture.
